Steven R. Allgaier, OD
Dr. Allgaier grew up in Frederick County, Maryland. After earning his Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University (1996) and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (2001), he decided to return to this beautiful area and serve the community where he grew up. He joined Walkersville Eyecare in 2004. Special interests include fitting contact lenses, co-managing LASIK, pediatrics, low vision, and patient education. Dr. Allgaier is married and has five amazing children. Favorite pastimes include spending time with his family, serving in his church, and training for half and full marathons.
Purvi Patel, OD
Dr. Patel grew up in Westminster, MD. She graduated from New England College of Optometry located in Boston, MA. Dr. Patel completed a pediatric rotation at New England Eye, Framingham in Framingham, MA, as well as a contact lens rotation at New England Eye Commonwealth in Boston, MA. Dr. Patel is a member of the Maryland Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Jeffrey L. Reynolds, OD
Dr. Reynolds grew up in Provo, UT. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1995. He has worked in Hagerstown, MD and Winchester, VA for 20 years. He joined Walkersville Eyecare in 2015. He enjoys taking care of his patients and helping them to obtain the best vision possible. When Dr. Reynolds was younger, he served as a church missionary in Chile for two years. As a result he is fairly fluent in Spanish. He also went on an optometric service trip to Costa Rica. He and his wife have four children. Pastimes include church service, golfing, board games, and relaxing.
Lisa G. Smith, OD
Dr. Smith grew up in Eastern North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Duke University in Durham, NC. Her Doctorate of Optometry degree was received from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where she graduated Summa Cum Laude as the valedictorian of her class. Dr. Smith completed a medical optometric training course at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She also received training in children’s developmental vision at the Whittier Vision Center in Whittier, CA. She has practiced in Frederick County since 1999. Dr. Smith and her husband, Bob, love to travel, cook, and volunteer for their church. Her grown stepdaughters, Natalie and Nicole, live in Virginia.
